An Account of the Buddha – Part 5 (from The Hallowed Book of Man)

The Buddha has proclaimed the truth: let the truth of the Buddha and his brotherhood dwell in your hearts. Extinguish in your selves every desire that antagonises thee, and in the perfection of your spiritual growth you will become like unto him. That of your heart that cannot or will not develop into the reason of the Buddha must perish, for it is mere illusion, and unreal; it is the source of your error; it is the cause of your misery. You attain to immortality by filling your minds with factual truth. Therefore, become like unto vessels fit to receive the Master's words. Cleanse yourselves of evil and of belief in that which is beyond belief. There is no other way of reaching real truth, for truth cannot be reached by firstly contaminating it.

The Hallowed Book of Man

An Account of the Buddha – Part IV (from The Hallowed Book of Man)

Bodies fall to dust, but the truths of the mind will not be destroyed. Truth knows neither birth nor death; it has no beginning and no end. Welcome the truth, which is fact. The truth is the immortal part of mind; it is The Way. Establish the truth in your mind, for the truth is the image of the eternal; it portrays the immutable; it reveals the everlasting; the truth gives unto mortals the boon of immortality.

An Account of the Buddha – Part III (from The Hallowed Book of Man)

The Buddha, our High Lord, was grieved at the ills of life. He saw the vanity of worldly happiness, and sought salvation in the one thing that will not fade or perish, but will abide forever and ever. You who long for life, know that immortality is hidden intransiency. You who wish for happiness without the sting of regret, lead a life of righteousness. You who yearn for riches, receive; receive treasures that are eternal. Truth is wealth, and a life of truth is happiness. All compounds will be dissolved again, but the verities which determine all combination and separations as laws of Nature, endure for ever and ever.

The Hallowed Book of Man

An Account of the Buddha – Part II (from The Hallowed Book of Man)

The truthful knowledge cures our diseases and redeems us from perdition; the truth strengthens us in life and in death; the truth alone can conquer the evils of error. Rejoice at the glad tidings! Hear you the true word of the hallowed Nazarenes, and rejoice. Await the coming of the Sixth and the Seventh, that you might know the salvation of your species.

Look about and contemplate life! Everything is transient, and nothing endures. There is birth and death, growth and decay; there is combination and separation. The glory of the world is like a flower, it stands in full bloom in the morning and fades in the heat of the day.

Wherever you look, there is a rushing and struggling, and an eager pursuit of pleasure. There is a panic, flight from pain and death, and hot are the flames of burning desires. The world is all vanity, full of changes and transformations. All is samsara.

Is there nothing permanent in the world? Is there in the universal turmoil no resting-place where our troubled heart can find peace? Is there nothing everlasting? Oh, that we could have cessation of anxiety, that our burning desires would be extinguished! When shall the mind become tranquil and composed?

The Hallowed Book of Man

An Account of the Buddha – Part I (from The Hallowed Book of Man)

Account of the one called the Buddha, according to the truthful record of the Brotherhood of Nazarenes, of which he was a Commander in Chief by right of his High Caul. The Buddha, our Lord, has shown us the root of all that is evil; he has shown us the way of salvation. The Buddha dispels the illusions of our mind and redeems us from the terror of death. The Buddha, our Lord, brings comfort to the weary and sorrow-laden; his teachings restore peace to those who are broken down under the burden of life. He gives courage to the weak when they would fain give up self-reliance and hope.
You that suffer from the tribulations of life, you that have to struggle and endure, you that yearn for a life of knowledge, of logic, of reason and of truth, rejoice at the glad tidings! There shall be balm for the wounded, and there shall be bread for the hungry. There shall be water for the thirsty, and hope for the despairing. There shall be light for those in darkness, and inexhaustible blessing for the upright of heart and of mind.
Heal your wounds, you wounded, and eat your fill, you hungry. Rest, you weary; and you who are thirsty quench your thirst in this vast lake of wisdom that is fed from the spring of the Brotherhood of Nazarenes. Look up to the light, you that sit in darkness; be full of good cheer, you that are
forlorn.
Trust in truth, you that love the truth, for the kingdom of The Way is founded upon earth. The darkness of wrongs and of all evil is dispelled by the light of honest truth. We can see our way and take firm and certain steps. We shall no longer slip, nor shall we fall. The Buddha, our Lord, has revealed the truth. The truth is reason, and reason is The Way.

The Elements of Law

Element of Air

Nothing lives without air. Like air, Justice cannot be seen, but its effects are profoundly felt; its consequences paramount.

Element of Water

Flowing, persistent, wearing; the three ingredients of seeking truths. To all men, water is like truth. Seek with diligence for it, lest all men thirst for it, even to death.

Element of Earth

All things require a medium in which to grow. Men only grow in the soils of reason, knowledge, logic and truth, watered with the rains of goodwill.

Element of Fire

The centre of man’s forge. Within the forge his metal is tempered and the brands to sear his flesh are heated. More here than just his metal is tempered in the fire and smoke of his existence: for here he cooks his food and warms his bones; he burns his hand and fashions his tools.

With Law, temper well: it will carve you a pathway to Justice. Hammer with care and weld together with honour; to be tested, not strained, and never, never, ignored or wasted.

Way thought for the day – 28.6.2011 – What Man?

What man who wishes to embark on a venture does not firstly sit down and calculate his means, so that he is assured of finishing it?

Would someone who cannot read sit down to write a book? Such foolish ones exist, and it may be observed that the more stupid a man is, the more he is likely to believe himself to be of the highest intelligence. He labours under the illusion that what he knows is all there is to know, and is therefore blinded by his own baseless arrogance, and limited by his ego and narrow horizons.

I ask all you who follow The Way – know yourselves in honesty, and follow a purpose within your means, whatever your means may be. Knowledge is your greatest asset; lack of reason your biggest weakness.

No man or woman is without value, unless they reach beyond the length of their arms, grasping nothing, and so remaining in their poverty. Better that a lowly person remains in his easy station, than try to emulate the skills and abilities of those he admires. To try to be someone that he is not, is impossible. To endeavour such way, he makes himself into a fool, giving his stupidity much advertisement by his failures.

Climate change Climate change hots up in 2010, the year of extreme weather

The year 2010 may have been the most extreme in terms of weather since the explosion of Indonesia’s Mount Tambora in 1816, when much of the world experienced reduced daylight and no summer, says one of the world’s most prominent meteorologists.

A combination of abnormal climatic phenomena resulted in the year being the hottest, wettest, and in many cases also the driest and coldest in recorded history, says Jeff Masters, co-founder of climate tracking website Weather Underground.

According to Masters 2011 is already on track to be exceptional, with a deepening drought in Texas ,“ where 65% of the state is now in “exceptional drought” conditions ,“ and one of the warmest springs experienced in 100 years taking place across much of Europe. It is also the most extreme tornado year recorded in the US, with Arctic sea ice already at its lowest ever for the time of year.

Way thought for the day – 26.6.2011 (Because nothing was…)

Because nothing was questioned, nothing was said.

Because no book was opened, nothing got read.

Because no one would read what was in front of their eyes,

When truth came before them, they were full of surprise.

Though close you your mind to all that is real.

And instead believe in all that you feel,

No saviour will save you, as you pray to gods.

No chances will save you,

When fighting the odds.

Way thought for the day 25.6.2011

Until man’s passions are cooled by the cold winds of logical thought and his thirst for power is slaked by the clear water of reason, he will keep going forward blindly, to his own destruction. He will remain oblivious to his actual state, and shall not listen until death breathes impatiently upon his unprotected, thick-skinned neck.
