It is to the advantage of the follower that he does not fear what others fear, but it is to the advantage of others that they can enjoy the feast, or go walking, free of hindrance, through the fields and byways in Spring.

He who seeks wisdom is well advised to give up evil or pointless ways, and put an end to striving, for such is folly. Then he will learn that yes and no are distinguished only by distinction.

It is better merely to live one’s life, realizing one’s potential, rather than wishing for sanctification. He who lives in filial piety and love has no need of ethical teaching. He is now beyond all redemption.
When cunning and profit are renounced, stealing and fraud will disappear. But ethics and kindness, and even wisdom, are insufficient in themselves to give satisfaction to the human mind. Better by far to see the simplicity of raw silk’s beauty and the uncarved block, to be one with oneself and with one’s brother, than to follow false complications. It is better by far to be at one with The All, developing selflessness, tempering desire, removing the wish, being compassionate. Such are great values.
Taxation, responsibility and morality: a few things to think about.
Food for thought on taxation and the clichés surrounding the phrase ‘social contract’. Think about it…do you know what you are telling yourself?

All too often in the lives of men, pretended piety and devotion to false gods arise only after conflict and strife, just as loyal ministers all too often appear after the people have been suppressed; mouthing false wisdom and platitudes which are reinforced by nothing, and supported by less than nothing.

When The Way is remembered, as it shall be in the Latter Days, kindness and ethics need to be taught to those who have forgotten; for men shall have learned to give pretence to be wise and good. They shall be hollow vessels, like the usurer and the whore. In those latter days all men shall be drunkards* and liars, following the ways of the lowest beasts; ruled by laws that ignore justice.
* The term ‘drunkard’ refers to those who are oblivious to reality and live in fantasy, including those whose master is strong drink.

Man cannot comprehend the infinite. Only knowing that the best exists, the second best is seen and praised, and the next despised and feared. The Follower does not expect that others use his criteria as their own. The existence of the leader who is considered wise is barely known to those he leads. He acts without unnecessary speech, so that the people may say, “It happened of its own accord”.
Nature is fooled into flowering in a ‘second spring’
Fruit, frogs, birds, insects, plants: they are all enjoying a warm autumn as the seasons go topsy-turvy. Ecologists are observing a rash of freak occurrences and oddities throughout England.

Poppies in the long grass, frogs croaking for mates, wasps droning lazily at the window, tomatoes and strawberries ripening in garden pots and crickets buzzing at dusk: these are the sights and sounds of an English summer. Except that they have all been recorded in the last week or so, even as shops are decking out in shiny baubles and cranking out Christmas carols.
Phenologists who track the subtle changes in the seasons over decades have reported for some time that plants and animals are breeding, flowering, fruiting and hibernating earlier and earlier.

“And there shall be whirlwinds and great storms upon the earth such as men have not seen before. And the summers will be without rain, or there shall be times of great floods. The seasons shall be as quicksilver, and they shall be so that they can no longer be predicted.”
“Your crops shall fail, and your beasts die. Even the frogs shall not be able to live in the waters, as they will be poisoned with the folly and the filth of men. And man shall show no reason.”
“And you shall know of this, as even the heavens will open, and the very sun that succours you will start to kill you, and the firmament will be rent with great storms, and pestilence will fall over the earth. And men shall reason, or men will die.”

When the consistency of The Way is known, the mind is receptive to its states of change. It is by being at one with The All that the Caulbearer holds no prejudice against his fellow man. If accepted as a leader of men, he is held in high esteem. Throughout his life, both being and non-being, The Force of the All and of Life protects him.

It is only by means of being that non-being may be found. When society changes from its natural state of continuous flux to that which seems like chaos, the inner world of the superiorly minded man remains uncluttered and at peace. By remaining still, his self-detached attitude allows him to aid his communities and his society in their return to the way of nature and of peace. The value of his insight may be clearly seen when chaos ceases. Being one with the Force of Life is to be at peace; and to be in conflict with it, leads to chaos, dysfunction and death.
