This article in the Irish Times, dated 19th April 2011, shows, even if it is in the case of a small country like Ireland, that blind faith in following a herd mentality, as enhanced and promoted by generations of religiously based attitudes and training (blind faith), leads to destroyed livelihoods and lives.
