Clinging to the past will not preserve it, nor will it preserve the most cherished moment. The past is to learn from, so that the future may be richer.

 

Like a child of paradise, the enlightened follower remains in harmony with The Way and sees the world untainted by unreasoned thoughts and baseless concepts; their unity is at one with Life and all its true wonders.

 

To the believer and the faithful followers of unreason, the unbridled senses are the gateway to delusion; and delusion leads to unnecessary suffering. To the follower, reason and logic are the pillars of the gateway that protect the road to enlightenment.

The ignorant revel in their likes and dislikes and they use their discriminatory faculties to find base pleasures in life. They choose their ignorance because the light is too strong for them.

The follower discriminates, and has likes and dislikes. He or she find purpose in their calculated discernments, and are therefore always learning. They learn both that which they should not do, as well as that which they should do. They are in balance. Opinion based on a lack of knowledge does not matter to him or her. Their inner vision is at one with The Way and, therefore, with the Force of Life.

 

The follower, in harmony with The Way, embraces life whether in joy or in sorrow, for he or she dwells in reason, with knowledge for guidance and truth, as beacon in the darkness that is unreason.

Mere words signifying nothing, while actions reveal all. The true follower has the courage to live an apparently meaningless life with meaning. He or she knows that The Way has meaning, and, if lived by, gives meaning. He or she accepts life like an infant at the breast.

Like water in its everlasting cycle, the follower remains in harmony with The Way and follows a humble path. Nourishing all, the follower is also nourished. He or she knows that all things, both man and beast, shall always return to the source from whence all things have come. The source is the Force of Life, which is the Force of The All. It is from where we came and to where we shall all return.

Energy does not die, as it cannot. The Force is energy, and though, broken down into its elements, the body returns to the soil, so does the spirit return to its place.

Even in a paradise land the fool will turn to his emotions that cloud his mind into the reality of false suffering. The follower of The Way uses his mind, and avoids the avoidable and faces the inescapable with equanimity.

 

The Force of Life, which is the Force of The All, permeates all beings. It is not beyond, but within our reach. It is like the sunlight on your brow, which gives you the sensation of warmth, but disappears when you enter shade.

As silence cannot be taught or heard, emptiness cannot be thought; neither can it be felt. The Way is not mysterious, yet it is just as real as your senses and the thoughts of your mind.
